Performance

Venture speakers present an extremely high level of resolution revealing all the qualities of tones, the most subtle changes in those tones, vibrato of voices and instruments and the tiniest levels of sibilance.
All that, without any hint of hardness found in many speakers.

The drivers are so fast that dynamic range is developed to the maximum levels of recording.
Individual images have their own dynamic range, a phenomenon that is virtually unheard of.
The noise floor is inaudible and the sound stage is wide and deep with highly focused images.

The sound is so pure that distortion is below anything in audio today. The coherence of the speakers is such that listeners can stand up, sit down or move around the room with absolutely no shift in tonal balance whatsoever.

All of these attributes of Venture speakers ensure that every aspect of recordings is revealed, as well as the characteristics of the electronics driving them.

Without a doubt, Venture brings you the Live Performance Satisfaction experience like never before!

Internal Wiring

Since 1987, Venture has been designing all cables used for internal wiring inside of the speakers. The internal cable design is based on the same technology used to design Venture interconnects and speaker cables.
The general concept of Venture cables is similar to some of the cables designed for micro wave technology which can have a bandwidth up to 18 GHz with excellent phase linearity.
The cable wire is fabricated with high purity copper and special silver plating like those used in micro wave applications. Venture cables are among the best in High End Audio.

Crossover

All crossover designs are FIRST ORDER (6dB/Octave) crossovers.
The passive crossover networks are hand built with point-to-point soldering and meet stringent quality control. Components are carefully selected and tested before and after assembly. This is also the case for the ACTIVE crossovers.
Venture continuously examines and tests new components and technologies for use in the speakers crossovers.
In order for first order crossovers to work properly, they must perform flawlessly and the drivers must meet the standards described in the following. Otherwise the sound will not be linear in phase or amplitude over the extended region of the crossover frequencies and resolution will be compromised and coherence will suffer.
This is also the case for the Active crossover. Today's development of digital technology has finally allowed us to create the utmost advanced active speakers with high resolution and to push boundaries to achieve the utmost Live Performance Satisfaction.
The use of 24 bit 192 kHz Digital Signal Processing and advanced class D amplifier have opened the way to a new generation of active speakers.

Drivers

Beginning in 2001, Venture engaged in research and development program leading its ability to design and fabricate its own drivers. The driver technology developed during that R&D program lead to the following 3 types of dynamic drivers.
The cones of the 2 first types of drivers are made with tiny graphite particles uniformly dispersed in a resin or pulp to form a graphite composite matrix.
Depending on the type of driver, long fibers of carbon or abaca are embedded in the graphite composite mix, in a proprietary pattern.  The cones are then encased in a mold and cured at high temperatures. A graphite composite matrix is mandatory to achieve optimal damping.

The first type of driver has long carbon fibers embedded in a graphite composite cone, in a proprietary pattern. Long fibers provide the stiffness needed for the cone to act as a piston in its primary oscillating motion. Since carbon fibers are very low in mass they also help minimize the weight of the cone. Thus the result is a light weight driver that is very fast with excellent dynamics, resolution and a natural sound.
This type of driver is called the Carbon Fiber Graphite Composite or CFGC for brevity.

The second type of drivers utilizes an Abaca pulp to form the graphite composite matrix. The long Abaca fibers are also derived from the stems of the Abaca tree, which is native in the Phillipines.
Therefore, the Abaca based cones basically have the same construction and performance characteristics as the CFGC Carbon Fiber resin based cones. Abaca is one of the materials that are used to produce security and specialized paper, which are well known for their flexibility and durability.
Not only are these cones durable, but they are stiff, light weight and very natural sounding.
This type of driver is called the Abaca Graphite Composite, or AGC Driver for brevity.

The last but not least type is the newest Beryllium driver, which for now only is applied to the 32 mm Tweeter, used in the Quantum Active speaker series.
This tweeter can reach a SPL of over 100 dB/2.83 V! This is exceptionally high and it is the only tweeter  in the world who can achieve that.

Cabinet

Solid, quiet and beautiful

The object of good cabinet design should be to achieve a quiet cabinet, not a dead one. Cabinet resonance is the primary and more difficult problem to control.
The more obvious internal features have to be solved, like internal vertical and horizontal bracing and forming compartments that are designed to achieve cabinet rigidity and isolation of drivers.

For some over than 20 years, Venture has used the approach of multiple laminates of solid hardwood to build up the outer walls of its speaker cabinets. Use of dissimilar materials in constrained laminated structures has been well established as an extremely effective method for damping vibrations in aircraft structures.

An improvement to the original multiple layer design was used for the Classic series of Venture speakers, where a heavy damping sheet was incorporated into the middle of the solid beech wood multi-layers.

However, by discovering the advantage of using alternating layers of HDF( High Density Fiberboard) with layers of solid hardwood in the laminate structure, this cabinet exhibits very low level resonances that are subdued and works in such a way that the cabinet does not interfere with the sound that the drivers produce. This approach is used in the Ultimate series of cabinets with excellent results for reducing unwanted vibration.

For years a high gloss finish with beautiful veneers and paints, has been the staple signature of Venture Speakers.
Recently Venture developed a way of applying a thick layer of a hard polyester high gloss mirror finish (circa 1300 microns thick) to its cabinets, further controlling cabinet vibrations. This finish is responsible for a noticeable improvement in the focus of images, better micro dynamics and it enhances the beauty of the speakers.
Once a quiet cabinet is achieved, the sound stage is noise free and the dynamics are preserved with superb focus of images and higher resolution of tones and sibilance.

Another area that is important to the cabinet design is the shape. Venture uses the V and C-shapes, both have their sides converge to a narrow front baffle, in order to minimize the baffle surface area and the subsequent sound wave reflections. Baffle reflections interfere with the wave launch of the drivers, causing some distortion of the sound, increasing noise floor and compromising the focus of images on the sound stage.
